Stadiums Queensland (SQ) manages some of Australia’s most iconic sports and entertainment venues.

SQ required a complete redevelopment to modernise its digital presence and provide a scalable, accessible, and user-friendly experience.

A Human Centered Approach

We had to get it right first time, so Campfire conducted extensive research prior to design and development.

Our discovery started with stakeholder interviews and on-site research.

We conducted a Usability study with over 1,000 respondents, we identified common challenges, including navigation difficulties and inconsistent content structures across SQ’s portfolio. 

Immersive research with local residents at AFL, NRL, music and motocross events at the Gabba, Suncorp Stadium and CBUS Stadium.

Researchers also attended practice and events at sporting precincts Sleeman and QSAC to understand how people engage with casual or competitive sports and the venues that host them.

Campfire designed and developed seven brand-new websites on Adobe Experience Manager, within 7 months; ahead of schedule and within budget which in turn delivered a dynamic online experience to users, reflecting the action that happens in the Stadium Queensland’s venues.

Campfire created a new design system including a common component library for all sites.

A content and design framework was implemented to ensure a smooth experience across venues while allowing for individual branding and site-specific content.

Backend Integration and
Technical Enhancements

To ensure long-term success, Campfire provided SQ’s internal team with hands-on training covering Jira workflows, AEM administration, and component management.

Campfire continue to develop and evolve SQ’s websites, guided by an enhancement strategy as well a providing ongoing support to the sites and the team at SQ.
