Developing a Unified Digital Ecosystem

Through user engagement and data analysis, Campfire developed a modular content framework to create a more accessible and maintainable digital experience.
Campfire developed a consolidated digital framework that streamlined user journeys while maintaining brand consistency.

A single design system (GEL) was introduced, ensuring a cohesive, intuitive interface across all platforms.
By implementing a component-driven approach, content teams could manage updates efficiently while ensuring design and content remained consistent and scalable.

Campfire delivered
A masthead and public websites
consolidating 200+ sites into a unified experience.

School Website Services
allowing 2,200 schools to maintain consistent, branded websites.

Staff Intranet & My Essentials Portal
a personalised dashboard providing access to 500+ applications.

Everyday Maths Hub
a curriculum-aligned platform integrating third-party APIs like ABC Education.

Backend Integration and
Technical Enhancements

A phased migration strategy ensured continuity while introducing new features incrementally. AEM’s advanced content management capabilities optimised performance for high-traffic platforms, supported by a robust CDN to enhance speed, reliability, and security.

This structured approach addressed key technical challenges, including API-based data integrations and support for Single Page Application (SPA) pages – critical elements in modern education-focused digital ecosystems.

Challenges and Risk Mitigation

Managing service continuity during the migration of high-traffic platforms, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and addressing scalability concerns required proactive governance and Agile methodologies. By implementing a structured risk-mitigation plan, Campfire delivered the project on time and within budget, while ensuring the system was future-ready.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

To provide long-term sustainability, enabling DoENSW’s internal team to independently manage and extend the platform.

Campfire’s comprehensive training to DoENSW’s ICT team covers:

  • Jira workflows and Agile development methodologies.
  • AEM administration and structured component management.
  • Governance processes for ongoing site and content updates.

This an approach that supports ongoing platform evolution without requiring external intervention.

Successful Outcomes

The transformation resulted in improved usability, engagement, and operational efficiency. The platform now enables:

  • Personalised digital experiences, improving access to educational resources.
  • Increased user engagement, with stronger adoption of digital tools.
  • Scalable infrastructure, designed to support ongoing enhancements.

By taking a modular, component-driven approach, the digital ecosystem was future-proofed for ongoing innovation, ensuring continued alignment with evolving education strategies.
